Christmas Greetings December 19, 2006

We received this message from David Lowe in the comments:
Just to let the old timers of the “Grassfield” days and the first years of Yekepa know that Dick Lowe is well (at 92 years of age) in Florida. I’m David Lowe communicating for my father. He stays clear of high tech communications. He has great memories of Nimba and still has a sharp mind and memory. He was in Liberia from the company’s inception to 1968. We left India in 1958 and he was called to Sweden at that time to take a look at a report that there was something of interest in Nimba. He was on board from that point on. It has been a shame to see what is left of Yekepa but war takes its toll.
This reminds us of a Christmas Greeting 40 years ago:
With the completion of the recent official activities in Nimba and Buchanan we can now look forward to the quiet family gatherings of the Christmans season. Many of our employees will celebrate this festival at their present homes in our areas; others will travel to thier old homes in Liberia and abroad for this occasion. Regardless of where they celebrate this season, our employees go with the knowledge that by their work and performance throughout this year they have fully earned the rest and happiness wich I hope all will enjoy. They have also earned the thanks of the Company and its Management for a job well done.
My wife joins me in wishing each and one of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
Liberian Freezer December 7, 2006

The concrete freezer is a great invention.
This week Observer Science and Technology caught up with a Liberian who invented his own freezing system, which he uses to freeze water and other food stuff for commercial purposes in order to sustain his family and himself.
